Extravaganza 2021

Dear Parents,

 

Rosemeadow Public Schools Extravaganza 2021 is going to be BIGGER and BETTER than ever before, but a little different!

 

In light of recent COVID-19 restrictions, we are trialling a new way to present our Extravaganza. This year students will rehearse during school time as per usual but then perform at Event Cinemas Macarthur Square – with no-one but themselves and staff as an audience. There will be no families in the audience on this day, but our students will get to watch their peers perform live for the first time ever. Our performance will be filmed and edited by a team of professional videographers and then during early Term 4 you will be able to buy tickets through event Cinemas Macarthur Square to view your child’s performance on the big screen.

 

Students will perform and be filmed on Wednesday 1st September and tickets will be released closer to this date with more information to come.

 

Cost: $20 per student. This includes a bus to the venue and snacks through the day. It also contributes to the cost of costumes and hire of facilities. This must be paid by Wednesday 18th August, 2021.

 

Transport: Students will leave school by bus from approximately 9.30am and arrive at Event Cinemas. These areas will be staffed by Rosemeadow Public School staff. Student’s safety is of utmost importance to us. Students will return to school by 3pm for regular school pick up.    

 

The theme of this year’s performance is ‘Through the Years – A Musical Journey. Every grade has been allocated a theme to focus their performance around. The allocations are as follows:

  • 1920’s/30’s/40’ – Year 2 + Support Unit (2A, 2S, 2K, 2M + Year 1 and 2 in K/6H)
  • 1950’s – Kindergarten + Support Unit (KA, KP, KG, KR, KC + Kindergarten in K/6H)
  • 1960’s – Year 5 (5H, 5G, 5D, 5F + Year 5 in 5/6B)
  • 1970’s – Year 1 (1L, 1G, 1/2C, 1D)
  • 1980’s – Year 4 (4K, 4A, 4D)
  • 1990’s – Year 6 +Support Unit (6A, 6R, 6G, Year 6 in 5/6B + Year 5&6 in K/6B and K/6K)
  • 2000’s -  Year 3 + Support Unit (3K, 3M, 3C, 3PL + Year 3&4 in K/6B and K/6K)

 

Your child’s participation is an integral part of each grades performance; therefore, we are seeking a commitment from all parents that their child can participate in the performance. Practise for the performance will be held during school hours. Please return the permission note below.

 

If you are wishing for your child not to participate, other teaching and learning activities will be given to your child to complete.

 

Please return a separate note for each child if you have more than one attending our school – if you cannot yet make the payment; please return a participation note for your child.

 

Tickets for the performance will be available to be purchased through Event Cinemas Macarthur Square. More information will be release closer to the performance.
